The overview
About Busagak Falls
Busagak Falls (also called Bugasak Falls) sits at the foot of a hill in Barangay Busay, one of the mountain barangays of Pinamungajan on Cebu's west coast. Unlike waterfalls that sit right off the highway, reaching Busagak takes real effort: visitors descend a hill on foot, then follow a river on foot for a stretch before the falls come into view. The payoff is a cascade with emerald-green water pooling deep enough for a swim, framed by large boulders and thick forest. Locals rate its scenery above other small falls in the area, and on clear days the cone of Mt. Kanlaon across the strait in Negros is visible from the surrounding hills, adding to the sense of being far from the city. The trail has no steep drops but does have slippery sections and thorny undergrowth, so the hike is best done with proper shoes and, ideally, a local guide from Barangay Busay who can point out the safest route down and back.

- 1 Wear shoes with good grip; the trail has slippery patches and thorny plants along the riverbank.
