About Capilla Santa Ana Museum and Labyrinth
Capilla Santa Ana is a privately owned chapel and museum in Sitio Santa Ana, Barangay Ibo, built in 1931 by Don Mariano Jesus Cuenco in honor of his mother, Doña Remedios Diosomito Cuenco. Modeled after old European chapels, the structure holds five rooms used as a prayer room, baptistry, museum, and classroom, filled with Renaissance-style paintings, antique furniture, and religious sculptures gathered over decades. The chapel stayed a private family space until it opened to the public in 2012. Beside the chapel sits a 25-meter labyrinth, a single winding path (not a maze with dead ends) that leads to a center point in the garden. Visitors walk the path slowly as a form of meditation or prayer, a practice with roots in medieval European cathedrals. The pairing of an antique-filled interior with a contemplative garden makes this one of Toledo's more distinct stops. The site is maintained by descendants of the original owners and keeps limited public hours, giving it a quieter, more personal feel than a typical museum visit.
