The overview
About Manguiao Falls
Manguiao Falls is a small, hidden waterfall tucked into the mountain forest of Barangay Manguiao, on the eastern, inland side of Asturias. Water drops just a few meters into a clear natural pool ringed by untouched tree cover, and a clearing beside the upper level has picnic tables and a thatch-roofed shelter for visitors. The municipality formally launched the falls as an official tourism site at Sitio Basak, Brgy. Manguiao in 2026, alongside the nearby Manguiao Cave, turning what was a locally known swimming hole into one of the town's newer organized attractions. Because the site sits on private mountain land, access has historically been arranged through a nearby resort in Barangay Tubigagmanok, though the recent municipal launch means barangay or tourism-office coordination may now also be the entry point — check current arrangements before heading up. The scale is modest compared to Cebu's bigger falls, but the payoff is a quiet, uncrowded pool good for a short dip and a packed lunch. Combine the trip with Manguiao Cave, a short walk away, for a fuller half-day outing in the barangay.
