The National Museum of the Philippines - Cebu opened to the public in August 2023, housed in the century-old Aduana (customs house) building near Plaza Independencia and Fort San Pedro. Inside, exhibits cover the natural history, archaeology, and cultural heritage of Cebu and the wider Visayas, including artifacts from pre-colonial trade, the Spanish and American colonial periods, and Cebu's role in maritime and mercantile history. Galleries are arranged across multiple floors, with rotating temporary exhibits supplementing the permanent collection.
