The overview
About Pasilong sa Naga
Pasilong sa Naga is a contemporary public park beside Naga City Hall, designed by internationally recognized Cebuano furniture designer Kenneth Cobonpue and inaugurated in October 2021. Its name translates roughly to "finding shade in Naga," reflecting its purpose as a shaded civic gathering space in the heart of the city. The park is built around interlocking ring structures meant to evoke the cycles of nature, which double as covered walkways, elevated pathways, fountains, benches, and rest areas. It was Cobonpue's first public park commission for a local government, and it opened alongside other city-center improvements including the Naga City Boardwalk. Today it functions as a free, open gathering spot for residents and visitors, often used for photos, evening strolls, and simply escaping the midday sun. It stands as a modern architectural counterpoint to Naga's much older Spanish-era church just a short walk away.
