The overview
About Ablayan Peak
Ablayan Peak is a highland lookout in Barangay Upper Becerril, sitting near the point where the boundaries of Boljoon, Malabuyoc, and Oslob meet. Rather than a technical summit, it is better described as a natural park in the sky: low rolling grassland and gentle slopes lead up to an open plateau, making the climb accessible to most visitors. At the top, rustic benches face out over layered mountain ridges and a pine-lined access road. On clear days the view extends across the Bohol Strait to Negros, Siquijor, and Bohol, giving Ablayan a wider sweep of horizon than most viewpoints in southern Cebu. The peak is exposed and can get very windy, with strong sun and heat building up around midday. Its open grass fields also make it a popular spot for picnics and casual overnight camping among local trekking groups.
