The overview
About Alcantara Sea Paradise
Alcantara Sea Paradise is a small eco-tourism park built around a mangrove forest at the edge of the town proper, close to the parish church and the road leading to the municipal hall. Its centerpiece is an elevated bamboo and wood boardwalk, roughly 300 meters long, that winds through the mangroves and opens onto a shallow coastal bay with views toward Negros across the strait. Aside from the boardwalk, the park keeps a modest zoo section housing a mix of local wildlife, including a rescued pawikan (sea turtle), mud crabs, a snake, a monkey, and several bird species not commonly seen up close. It functions as both a nature walk and a small wildlife display rather than a large-scale zoo. The pace here is slow and low-key: families stroll the boardwalk in the late afternoon for the sea breeze and sunset, and the mangrove cover makes it noticeably cooler than the open plaza nearby. It is a modest stop best paired with the town's other sights rather than a full day out.
