The overview
About Amazing Island Cave
Amazing Island Cave is a tidal cave in Sitio Lucbon, Barangay Consuelo, a few minutes from Consuelo Wharf. Seawater flows in and out with the tide, so the cave's internal water level rises and falls through the day, and openings in the rock ceiling let sunlight filter down onto the pool below. At low tide, a small patch of dry ground inside functions as a miniature island in the middle of the flooded chamber, giving the cave its name. Visitors can wade, swim, or float through parts of the cave with a life jacket, since some sections are too deep to stand in; guides are on hand to point out safe paths and manage the tide timing. Because access and swimming conditions depend heavily on the tide, timing a visit around low tide gives the calmest, most walkable experience, while high tide turns much of the interior into open water for swimming instead.
