Caduawan Hills (Little Batanes)
Rolling grassland hills in Caduawan dubbed Little Batanes of Cebu, popular for camping and stargazing.
The overview
About Caduawan Hills (Little Batanes)
Caduawan Hills, nicknamed the 'Little Batanes of Cebu,' is a stretch of rolling grassland in Barangay Caduawan, Tabogon, on farmland owned by the local Ornopia family and opened informally to visitors. A short but steep climb of around ten minutes leads to the main viewpoint, where grass-covered slopes crisscrossed by dirt trails echo the open countryside look of the actual Batanes islands, minus the ocean backdrop. From the summit, the 360-degree view takes in farmland, limestone cliffs with visible cave openings, distant transmission towers, and a cemetery further down the valley. The exposed, elevated grassland and low light pollution also make it a popular spot for overnight camping and stargazing, in addition to sunrise and sunset viewing. Because it is privately run farmland rather than a formal park, facilities are minimal, and trail conditions can change with the seasons and with how the family maintains the site.
