About Eagle's Cave

Eagle's Cave, also known locally as Dingayop Cave, is a limestone cave in Barangay Obo. It gets its name from a pair of stalagmite formations near the entrance said to resemble an eagle's legs. It is one of Dalaguete's developed ecotourism sites, sitting close to the adjoining Dingayop Spring. Visitors register at a staging area, put on a helmet with a headlamp, and enter with a DOT-trained local guide. Inside are chambers lined with stalactites and stalagmites, and some sections require wading through water, crawling, or scrambling over wet rock. The cave is reached by a hill-and-river trek from the village center, and it's usually paired with a visit to the nearby spring for a half-day outing. Despite the name, no actual eagle lives inside; it refers only to the shape of the rock formation.
