The overview
About Holy Crystal Cave
Holy Crystal Cave is an eight-level cave system in Barangay Union, notable for stalactites and stalagmites that appear white and glittering rather than the brown mineral tones typical of most caves in the region. It was found in 1996 by a landowner gathering firewood, after noticing a crab emerging from a hole in the ground. A guided tour through all eight levels takes about 1.5 hours, descending through narrow passages and chambers that open into wider formations further down. Guides point out the more delicate crystal formations, which are easy to miss or damage without direction. The cave sits close to Consuelo Wharf and Lake Danao, making it easy to combine with a lake visit on the same day. There's no fixed entrance fee, though a donation to the community guides who maintain and lead tours through the cave is expected.
