The overview
About Palanas Public Beach
Palanas Public Beach lies along the southern coastline of Ginatilan in Barangay Palanas, facing the Tañon Strait. It is a free, undeveloped shoreline with a mix of pebbles and patches of fine sand, kept quiet by the absence of cottages, vendors, or entrance gates found at nearby commercial resorts. The water stays clear close to shore, with small fish and scattered coral visible around the rocks, making it workable for casual snorkeling if visitors bring their own mask and fins. Locals use the stretch for family picnics, informal gatherings, and swimming, and it sees far fewer visitors than the resort beaches further south in Malabuyoc and Moalboal. Because there are no facilities, visitors need to bring everything they need, including shade, food, and drinking water, and are expected to pack out their own trash. It works well as a stop between Ginatilan's other sights rather than a full-day resort destination.
