About Paraiso Cave

Paraiso Cave is the most developed show cave in the Camotes Islands, built up with a resort and restaurant right around its entrance in Barangay Consuelo, San Francisco, on Pacijan Island. A concrete stairway with sturdy handrails and electric lighting leads visitors about five minutes down into the earth, making it far more accessible than the islands' other wild caves. At the bottom sits the main draw: a deep, startlingly clear turquoise freshwater pool roughly the size of a badminton court, reaching chest depth in places. The water is so transparent that a five-foot depth can look like barely a foot, and swimming here is the whole point of the visit. The cave chamber itself is compact but photogenic, with the pool ringed by natural rock. Above ground, the property has been landscaped into a garden setting with dining areas, rest huts, and rooms for overnight stays, giving Paraiso Cave a more resort-like feel than the raw, unlit caves elsewhere on Camotes. It draws a steady mix of local day-trippers and island-hopping tourists looking to cool off underground.

Tips for visitors
