About Seven Caves of Minglanilla (White Cave, Camp 7)
The Seven Caves of Minglanilla, locally called Kampo Siete Caves, are a cluster of limestone caverns in the mountains of Barangay Camp 7, along the town's boundary with Toledo City. The caves are known for tight traverses, jagged rock formations, and quartz crystal deposits, drawing spelunkers and adventure hikers from across Cebu. White Cave is the best known and largest of the seven, named for a chalk-white front wall that visitors compare in scale to the facade of Cebu's Metropolitan Cathedral. It has two entrances more than six feet across that both lead into one large central chamber, making it a manageable introduction to the system for first-time cavers. Only about four of the seven caves are typically open for exploration; the rest have been closed since the 2013 Bohol earthquake due to unstable passages and reported snakes. From the barangay proper it is a short 15-20 minute trek to reach the first cave, but a local guide is essential since trails are unmarked and some passages require crouching, crawling, or climbing through narrow gaps.
