The overview

About Sugar Beach

Sugar Beach is a wide stretch of white sand on the southeastern edge of Bantayan Island, right next to Kota Beach and practically within Santa Fe town itself. It is one of the widest beaches on this coast, running over a kilometer long with soft, fine sand and a shoreline free of sharp coral or rocks, making it comfortable to walk barefoot. The beach fronts several resorts and beachside restaurants and bars, so food and drink options are easy to find along its length even though the namesake Sugar Beach Resort itself offers only simple accommodation without its own restaurant. Tent camping is allowed and free if visitors bring their own gear, which makes it a budget-friendly option for an overnight beach stay. Because it sits on the southeastern side of the island, Sugar Beach is a good spot for sunrise. The gently sloping shoreline and calm, shallow water suit swimming and relaxing more than watersports.
