The overview

About Buswang Lake

Buswang Lake, in Barangay Bago, is often cited as Cebu's largest freshwater lake, fed by springs flowing down from the surrounding hills. Reported sizes vary by source, from roughly 5 to 20 hectares, and the lake includes a small island near its center. Lotus and water hyacinth grow along parts of the shoreline, and a boardwalk extends out over the water for visitors who want a closer look without getting on a boat. Visitors can also hire a boat to paddle around the lake, try fishing, or simply relax at the adjoining Buswang Lake House restobar, which serves food with a view of the water. The lake occasionally hosts local events such as banca races, and its easy access just off the Cebu Transcentral Highway has made it one of Asturias' more developed and better-known attractions in recent years. It pairs well with a stop at Agtugop Spring, roughly the same side of town.
