The overview

About The Cathedral (Pescador Island)

The Cathedral is Pescador Island's most famous dive site - a massive underwater cavern located on the northwest side of the island. This natural formation resembles a grand cathedral with its vaulted ceiling and multiple 'windows' that allow sunlight to stream through, creating an ethereal, almost spiritual atmosphere. The cavern starts at around 18 meters and drops to over 40 meters, featuring various chambers, swim-throughs, and exit points. When viewed from inside looking out, the openings create the eerie appearance of a skull, adding to its mystique. The Cathedral is home to diverse marine life including schools of jacks, occasional white-tip reef sharks, and countless smaller reef fish. The walls are covered in colorful soft corals that come alive when illuminated by dive lights.
