The overview
About Molobolo Spring
Molobolo Spring is a cold freshwater spring in Barangay Molobolo, Tuburan, where fresh water bubbles up continuously and flows directly into the sea, creating a rare spot where the two waters meet along the shoreline. The name is believed to derive from "bulukbulok," an old term describing the bubbling sound the spring makes as it surfaces. Large old trees shade much of the developed pool area, keeping the water and the surrounding grounds noticeably cool even at midday. The spring has been developed into a series of pools of different depths, including a deeper main pool, a shallower section for children, and an infinity-style pool near the point where the fresh spring water meets the incoming tide. Concrete walkways, cottages, and food stalls surround the pools, and vendors sell grilled food, snacks, and canned goods on site. Molobolo draws steady crowds from nearby towns, especially on weekends and during summer, since it sits right off the coastal road and needs no hiking to reach. It works well as a half-day stop paired with Marmol Cliff or the Lantawan ruins on a loop through Tuburan.
