This plan starts at a beachfront resort on Mactan Shrine’s home island, spends a day on the water, then swaps the resort crowd for the slower pace of Bantayan Island before circling back to Cebu City for a sunset finale at Temple of Leah and 10,000 Roses Cafe. It’s built for couples who want real relaxation, not a checklist — adjust the days to taste, but the order (resort → water day → quiet island → sunset send-off) works because it gets progressively slower, not busier.

A private boat for two runs roughly ₱2,500–5,000 total, plus marine sanctuary fees of about ₱150–300 per person per island, paid on arrival at each stop. A packaged joiner tour through Klook runs closer to ₱2,000–3,500 per person including lunch, snorkel gear, and a guide — cheaper, but shared with other travelers. Either way, confirm what’s included (lunch, gear, fees) before you pay.

Back at the resort, book a couples massage for the late afternoon — most Mactan resort spas have a shared treatment room built for two, and 2–3 days’ advance booking is recommended for weekend slots. Resort couples’ spa packages typically run in the ₱3,000–8,000 per couple range for a 60–90 minute session, though this varies a lot by resort and treatment — confirm the exact package price when you book, since spa menus change seasonally.

Day 3: Transfer to Bantayan Island

Swap the resort crowd for a quieter beach: transfer from Cebu City to Bantayan Island, a half-day trip by bus and ferry. From the Cebu North Bus Terminal, it’s roughly 3–3.5 hours by bus to Hagnaya Port in San Remigio, then a 1–1.5 hour ferry crossing to Santa Fe port on Bantayan. Ferry fares from Hagnaya to Santa Fe run about ₱305–384 depending on the operator (Island Shipping or Super Shuttle Ferry), plus a small ₱20–25 terminal fee — confirm current fares locally, as fuel surcharges have pushed rates around lately. Do as little as possible — rent a scooter, hit a beach or two, and let the day be unstructured. A short boat ride out to Virgin Island or one of Bantayan’s sandbars is worth the half-day if you want a change of scenery; ask your resort front desk to arrange a boat, since prices vary by season and group size and aren’t standardized enough to quote reliably. Temple of Leah, a Roman-style monument built as a tribute of love, overlooking the city from the Busay hills, charges ₱120 entrance on weekdays and ₱150 on weekends for adults (₱80–100 for children and seniors), plus ₱50 for parking. A short drive away, 10,000 Roses Cafe in Cordova lights up its rose-covered walkway after dark; entrance fee reports for 2026 mostly cite around ₱20 per person for garden access, though some visitors report higher rates — confirm at the gate, since it’s a small enough amount either way not to plan around. If you have extra time before sunset, Sirao Flower Garden nearby runs ₱100 entrance and makes a good add-on to the same highland loop.

Have a final dinner back near your resort or in Cebu City, then head to the airport for your flight out. If your flight is early the next morning, spend this last night at a Mactan resort near the airport rather than downtown — it saves you an anxious pre-dawn drive.

If you want to add scuba diving to the honeymoon, Moalboal’s Pescador Island is the best nearby dive site for couples who both dive, but it’s a few hours south of this itinerary’s route — better suited to extending the trip by a day or two than squeezing in on Day 4 or 5.

The Honest Take

Cebu is a genuinely good honeymoon pick because it doesn’t force you to choose between resort comfort and real quiet — you get both within a few hours of each other. That said, be realistic about the transfers: Bantayan adds a half-day of travel each way, and if either of you hates ferries or long bus rides, you’re better off staying entirely within Mactan and doing a single day trip south instead, or picking a shorter version like our south Cebu 3-day itinerary.

Skip Sinulog weekend (the third Sunday of January) entirely if quiet is the goal — Cebu City is loud, packed, and expensive that week, the opposite of what most couples want from a honeymoon. April and May are hot and can be genuinely draining on the outer islands with less shade; November through March is the more comfortable stretch, weather-wise. And don’t over-schedule Bantayan — the whole appeal of that leg is doing less, not squeezing in every beach on the island.
