Moalboal Sardine Run

About Moalboal Sardine Run
The Moalboal Sardine Run is one of the most spectacular underwater experiences in the Philippines. Millions of sardines gather in massive schools just 20-30 meters off Panagsama Beach, creating breathtaking tornado-like formations that can be enjoyed by snorkelers and divers alike. Unlike other sardine runs around the world that occur seasonally, Moalboal's sardines are present year-round, making it a reliable attraction any time you visit. The sardines moved to Moalboal in 1998 and have stayed ever since, likely due to the abundant plankton and protection from predators near the reef. The experience of swimming through millions of silvery fish as they swirl around you is truly magical and unlike anything else in the diving world.
